Synopsis:
Five sessions, three hours per session, introducing acting for television commercials to the beginning actor. Those with more acting experience but little or no background in on camera audition process are also included. Taping and playback with open discussion and critique are utilized extensively through the sessions.
Session I: Orientation, slating on camera, definition of acting and brief discussion, incorporating your life experiences, approaching scripts with one line and no lines. Tape/playback: three times minimum.
Session II: One line scripts with more complex copy, approaching scripts with action and no lines, basic work with other actors on camera, introduction to hand held copy, introduction to using cue cards during taping. Tape/playback: three times minimum.
Session III: High-energy one-line scripts, introduction to and analysis of spokesperson copy, techniques to turn copy into “dialogue”, vocal techniques for improving pitch, rate, emphasis. Tape/playback: three times minimum.
Session IV: Intensive work on spokesperson copy, working with other actors on camera with complex dialogue, the “business of the business” including agents, unions, headshots, resumes.
Tape/playback: three times minimum.
Session V: Final spokesperson and two actors with complex dialogue, techniques for working with the other actor, picking up cues, etc. Tape/playback: three times minimum.

Glen has taught acting for camera and stage for nearly 28 years.
He has been a SCREEN ACTORS GUILD MEMBER for 30 years.
He has been in over 80 National, international, regional, cable commercials.
He appeared in more than 60 stage productions, 8 independent/feature films, and
30 corporate communication videos.
Glen has taught hundreds on workshop sessions to several thousand actors!
He has BA (Magna Cum Laude) in Theatre and MA in Communications.
Glen has taught at schools, theaters, and agencies across the country,
been an adjunct professor at the University of Florida
and taught dozens of my own workshops.
